A LITTLE HELP?

Let’s sort it out.

Insomio is preparing for its first release. Here’s a quick guide and a way to reach the developer.

How do I keep my Mac awake?

  1. Launch Insomio and click the coffee cup in the menu bar.
  2. Choose a duration, or keep your Mac awake indefinitely.
  3. Choose Deactivate at the top of the menu when you’re done.

Where is the window or Dock icon?

Insomio lives in the menu bar. Open More → Settings from its menu to change preferences. Closing Settings leaves your session running; quitting the app releases its sleep-prevention assertions.

Which Macs are supported?

Insomio requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later and supports both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

Can the screen sleep while my tasks continue?

Yes. Enable the option to allow display sleep in Settings. By default, Insomio keeps both the system and display awake.

Why does closing the lid still put my Mac to sleep?

Insomio prevents automatic idle sleep. It does not override lid closure, manual sleep, or macOS power protections. After system sleep, only a session that has not expired or been deactivated resumes on wake.

Why did my session stop when I unplugged my Mac?

Check the option to deactivate when switching to battery power. When enabled, disconnecting external power ends the session. Reconnecting does not automatically start a new one.

Where can I download it?

The Mac App Store and direct-download versions have not been released yet. Links will appear on the homepage when available. There is currently no public download.

Found a problem or have an idea?
